SIREN (Strangulation Injury Response and Evaluation) Center offers recognition, response, and protection. A siren is a signal that something is wrong—and that help is on the way. That is exactly what SIREN exists to provide. Strangulation and other forms of severe interpersonal violence often leave little or no visible injury, yet they can cause serious, life-threatening harm. Many survivors are told they “look fine,” even when their body and brain have been injured. SIREN was created to change that.
SIREN makes the invisible visible. We recognize injuries that are often missed and experiences that are too often dismissed. If you felt afraid, dizzy, confused, or like you couldn’t breathe—your experience matters, even if there are no marks.
When a siren sounds, people respond. SIREN connects individuals to specialized medical care, trauma-informed support, and trusted resources—without judgment, pressure, or assumptions. You do not have to know what you need. We help you take the next step.
Strangulation is an act meant to silence. SIREN exists to help survivors be heard, believed, and supported. We provide a safe place to talk, to be examined, and to receive care—on your terms.

The organizations and providers working with the Siren Center offer comprehensive mental health, counseling and medical care tailored to facilitate your recovery journey. Recognizing the distinct and often complex challenges that survivors of non-fatal strangulation encounter, our dedicated team is here to provide compassionate support. Whether you need direct assistance or would like us to connect you with specialized resources, we are committed to helping you navigate this difficult path toward healing and empowerment.
SIREN is not just a name. It is a promise.A promise that:
You will be taken seriously
Your health and safety come first
Help is available, even when injuries can’t be seen
When everything feels quiet after harm, SIREN is the sound that says help is here.
